Indiegogo is a highly successful technology startup in the crowdfunding space, born and raised by three friends and co-founders in San Francisco.
Originally based in the Sunset district on San Francisco’s west side, Tom helped them find the perfect loft space near 8th and Folsom. They quickly outgrew that space, and were taking take calls on the fire escape. They asked Tom to find them another new home, reflective of their brand and their people.
By this point, Indiegogo was well established in the technology community. They wanted light and air and high ceilings and brick and timber and steel and glass. But they also needed to be close to transportation, find a space within a reasonable budget, and an allowance for dogs. The key to Tom’s search was closing on the top choice, in a building that was just attempting to attract technology companies.
Their new home, a previously tired old private-office intensive office space, was transformed into arguably one of the coolest floors in the city. Tom negotiated hardwood floors, high ceilings, five sides of light, glass conference spaces, a central open kitchen, all at the landlord’s cost. Indiegogo continued its growth pattern, and we were able eventually to secure three full beautiful floors in the same building on Mission Street to accommodate them.
